MDBs commit to over $180bln for climate finance at COP28

N K Singh, co-chair of the G20 expert group, emphasized the need for Multilateral Development Banks (MDBs) to play a stronger role in climate and developmental finance. The MDBs have committed to unlocking over $180 billion in additional climate finance. Singh highlighted the critical role of MDBs in revamping climate finance and called for a new country engagement model to increase transformative investments. The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and World Bank have announced significant increases in climate lending and finance targets.
