According to Delhi Traffic Police data, more men than women lost their lives in motor vehicle crashes in the city last year. Men accounted for 91% of the total deaths and 86% of the injuries. Road engineering issues were found to be major causes of the crashes, and pedestrians and motorcyclists were the most vulnerable. The number of fatal crashes involving two-wheelers increased, with one in every three death or injury victims being a two-wheeler rider.
